HLLB-031   (Steigenteschgasse)                        20.10.2013     (19:30)

Vienna D.C. Timberwolves/1 : 13 : 23 : 9 : 21 : 66

Vienna D.C. Timberwolves/2 : 9 : 16 : 16 : 18 : 56

Searching for that elusive first win had been the team’s challenge in tonight’s game. Two teams representing the Timberwolves in HLL were battling for the internal right to be considered number one. Eventually the honor belonged to the D.C. Timberwolves/1 team.

The team battled for much of the game, after falling behind by as many as 13 points, we were able to cut the deficit by 5 points twice in the second half. However, too many mistakes in handling the ball (22), a 31% shooting percentage from the field (56/18) and 61% from the free throw line (25/15) did not help our chances.

Saukel (21), Gajs (8), Kaulavicius (8), Aigner (7), Shama (4), Ogunlola (3), Dangl P, Mucska (2), Poropat, Knittl, Dangl G.

HLLB-022      (Längenfeldgasse)                     06.10.2013     (17:30)

Vienna D.C. Timberwolves/2 : 18 : 14 : 11 : 17 : 60

BasketFlames/5 Post SVH   : 18 : 15 : 16 : 33 : 82

The second game of the young HLL season started in a very strange way. Two players from the team collided sending one to the hospital (Bares) and leaving the second (Aigner, L.) with a cut on his head. The game itself remained competively close for three quarters. Scoring was a huge problem for us today; with a percentage of only 27% (59/22) there will not be many games to be won. Turnovers throughout the match (20) benefited our opponent’s opportunities.

Aigner P (12), Mucska (10), Shama (9), Gajs (9), Haberl (9), Aigner L (4), Ogunlola (4), Knittl (3), Debnar, Bares, Dangl P

Season Opener

HLLB-012         (Wien Stadthalle B)                 28.09.2013     (18:00)

Basket 2000 Vienna Kurir   : 23 : 21 : 15 : 24 : 83

Vienna D.C. Timberwolves/2 :15 : 8 : 16 : 10 : 49

Not the start to the season that we all imagined. Too little against a very good team typically translates into a loss. We will have to take better care of our possessions and find a way to score more points if we hope to stay within reach of the upper play-off picture. Strengthening the roster and quickly getting accustomed to playing together will be one of our goals. We gave our opponent too many second chance opportunities and it proved costly.

Bares (14), Aigner L (9), Knittl (8), Dangl P (6), Aigner P (5), Kaulavicius (4), Mucska (3), Debnar, Dangl G
